Nexen wins US design awards

Nexen Tire’s Roadian HTX RH5 has won a US Good Design Award. The company’s N’FERA RU5 also won the Korean Good Design Awards and the firm’s N’blue Premium won the Korean Pin up Design Awards.

The US Good Design Awards is an annual design awards programme organized by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design (Illinois) in cooperation with the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

Entries for categories, including electronics, transportation, furniture, computer and architecture, were submitted by various firms across the world. Good products for each category are then selected through a review. Roadian HTX RH5 received high scores for a design that adopted nature in the city. For its part, Nexen reports that the Roadian HTX RH5 performs both on on- and off-road.

Additionally, N’Fera RU5, a premium SUV tyre, won the Korean Good Design Awards, best design awards in Korea organized by The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Korea Institute of Design Promotion. N’blue Premium won the Pin up Award which is organized by Korea Association of Industrial Designers and The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. This is the third Silver schievement after having won the same prize in 2009 for the first time in the tyre industry.

“Achieving a grand slam of world design awards and this US Good Design Awards is testament to our redoubled efforts to concentrate all our capabilities from performance and quality on the design of our products,” said Han Min-hyun, Nexen Tire Vice president and R&D director. “We will continue to improve our product competitiveness in the global market through continuous R&D investment.”
