Blaupunkt offering TPMS in India

Based on sensors that screw into valves, Blaupunkt’s kit looks like it is aimed squarely at the aftermarket

Well known in-car equipment manufacturer Blaupunkt has introduced a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) in India. According to the company, the product provides real-time information and customizable alerts on tyre pressure and temperature conditions.

The TPMS gathers accurate pressure data directly from the tyre valves through wireless sensors, making it look like it has been designed as an aftermarket kit. The TPMS kit includes a display unit, fourtyre sensors, and a locking mechanism to prevent theft.

Preeti Bakshi, marketing head of Blaupunkt, commented: “This is the first of several additional products that the company will launch in this emerging but important segment. Blaupunkt is leading the way with a range of TPMS solutions and technologies for retail and original equipment manufacturing segments, including passenger and commercial vehicles, where the company’s TPMS solutions can monitor vehicles with 20 plus tyres and integration of the data into the head unit display, CAN network, smart phones etc. Stay tuned for more interesting developments from Blaupunkt in this space.
