SEMA award win for Continental, Cooper voted runner-up

Continental’s TrueContact, segment award winner at SEMA

Continental’s TrueContact has been voted a winner at the New Products Showcase Awards during this year’s SEMA show. The TrueContact took first place ahead of the Cooper Discoverer SRX and Nitto EXO Grappler AWT in the ‘Tire and Related Product’ category. The awards finalists in 16 categories were selected from nearly 2,000 new products.

The TrueContact touring performance all-season tyre was introduced in the first half of 2014 and is promoted as a tyre combining “best-in-class wet braking with Continental’s award-winning, EcoPlus Technology,” a product that can “save the consumer money while providing the confidence they need in all seasons.”

“We’re extremely proud to be awarded the New Product Showcase Award in the Tire and Related Product category by SEMA,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for Continental Tire. “The TrueContact brings together many of our innovative technologies into one, all-season tyre. We’ve worked hard to blend technologies such as EcoPlus, Comfort Ride and Tuned Performance Indicators, to give consumers a tyre that will save them money and give them the performance they demand.”

Runner-up, the Cooper Discoverer SRX all-season tyre for sport utility and crossover vehicles, debuted in October 2014 and is designed to “provide dependable all-season highway traction, superior handling, and a quiet, comfortable ride.”

“Cooper constantly strives to develop cutting-edge technology providing the best real-life tyre performance for our consumers,” said Scott Jamieson, director of product management at Cooper. “It is an honour for one of our tyres to achieve this type of accolade in the midst of such tough competition. We believe this is a testament to the consumer-friendly innovation Cooper delivers.”
