Material handling system will increase production and quality

Chinese tyre manufacturer Qingdao Sentury Tire has commissioned Finnish robotics company Cimcorp to deliver a new material handling solution for passenger car green tyre production. Plans are that the system will be fully operational next year, and the stated aims are to increase plant productivity and improve product quality.

The project involves the installation of three automation lines consisting of electric monorail systems (EMS) for unloading tyre-building machines and transferring green tyres to the curing buffers, green tyre buffers, spotting stations, and EMS for press delivery.

Material flow in the factory will be controlled by Cimcorp software, which integrates all robots, electric monorail systems, and pallet conveyors.
