Marangoni expanding pre-cure strip, Ringtread production in Argentina

One of three new presses that will lift Marangoni’s capacity in Argentina

A little more than a year after the inauguration of its new plant in Rosario (Santa Fe province), Marangoni Argentina has further expanded its operations with the installation of a fifth 4-metre press for Unitread and Precauch flat pre-cure retread strips, plus two other presses for the production of Ringtreads. The presses will commence operation shortly.

The Marangoni Group says it decided to invest in this new equipment due to the strong growth at Marangoni Argentina last year, and in order to optimise production processes at the Rosario plant and provide the market with the highest quality products. The investment will allow the company to expand production to full capacity, and in doing so consolidate its established leadership in its reference markets: Marangoni Argentina has a 30 per cent share of the domestic market, selling an average of 1.1 million retreaded tyres a year. Installation of these new presses will bring production capacity to around 30 tonnes a day and allow the company to increase exports to South American markets, reduce imports from Brazil, and retain its already high share of the Argentine market.

With this expansion, Marangoni Argentina will achieve the objectives it set on opening the new factory in terms of productivity and quality. The inauguration of the plant, which required significant investments in terms of infrastructure and equipment, brought to five the number of facilities around the world capable of producing the Ringtread line.
