Kenda highlights awards and European know-how in Automechanika presentation

As winner of the Taiwan Excellence Award, Kenda presented its latest products at a press conference 2014 together with other award winners at Automechanika on 17 September. Trade delegates from Taiwan as well as a high-ranking representative from Taipei were in attendance at the Frankfurt show. These included: Agnes Hwa-Yue Chen, Representative of Taipei in Germany, Chin-ling Yu, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center (TAITRA) in Düsseldorf, and Patty Lin, Project Manager at TAITRA.

Kenda’s award was granted for the 22nd time by the trade promotion organization Taiwan External Trade Development Council to Taiwanese companies which have distinguished themselves in the areas of research and development, design, quality and marketing.

Michael Andre, Marketing and Sales Manager, Kenda Rubber Industrial Europe GmbH, presented Kenda products that were previous award winners: the KR26 and KR30 passenger car tyres, the K492 motorcycle tyre, the K589 and K592 ATV tyres as well as the K1080 and K1150 bicycle tyres. Michael Andre focused on Europe during the presentation: “We want to win over the European market with our passenger car tyres.”

New European focused UHP tyre coming

According to the firm, engineers in Taiwan with European know-how are working on the development of the first tyre especially for the European market, an ultra-high-performance tyre with an asymmetrical tread pattern in the “W” speed category. The Taiwanese manufacturer understands the European and above all the German markets’ high demands. “We are working at full speed to develop products for the high performance demands in Europe. Our goal is to be capable of competing against the established brands on this market,” says Michael Andre.

This is why there has been development work in renowned test centres such as IDIADA (Spain), MIRA (England) and Test World (Finland).
