Cenex to launch free fleet carbon reduction tool at LCV2014

UK Centre of Excellence for low carbon technologies, Cenex will launch its new website-based electric vehicle viability analysis tool at LCV2014. Responding to the needs of fleet managers, Cenex has developed a simple-to-use fleet decision making tool. Cenex’s FCRT lite (http://www.cenex.co.uk/fleet-carbon-reduction-tool/) enables fleet decision makers to accurately access the viability of low carbon vehicles within their fleet operations. The tool is based on real world duty cycles, real world fuel consumption and real world electric vehicle range. By providing a realistic total cost of ownership, FCRT lite aims to de-risk the implementation of low carbon fleet solutions.

All you need to do is enter information on your fleet into the FCRT lite tool, including the drive cycle split of urban, rural and motorway, ownership cycle and days of use per annum. The tool will then present a dashboard of economic and environmental performance by comparing an existing low carbon vehicle to the diesel equivalent.

“We are extremely excited to be launching our FCRT lite,” says Chris Walsh, head of technical support at Cenex. “During our Electric Vehicle Surgery’s, we found that fleet managers and decision makers were interested in gaining impartial advice on low carbon vehicles as it enabled them to gain an understanding of how Electric Vehicles can best be deployed within their fleets and what savings could be made. Unlike other applications currently available on the market, our new tool (that can be used and accessed for free), will use real-world data that we have collected to help evaluate the viability of a range of low carbon vehicles within fleet operations, allowing fleet managers to make informed decisions which may be better suited to their operations.”

Cenex’s FCRT lite tool will be launched on the Cenex website at LCV2014 and will also be available in the Electric Vehicle Surgery on the Cenex stand at the LCV Event. LCV is the UK’s largest technology showcasing and networking event for the UK low carbon vehicle community, taking place on 10 and 11 September 2014 at Millbrook Proving Ground.
