TyreClick used in 1000 garages across the UK

With suggestions that 20 per cent of all tyres will be purchased on-line by 2020, leading UK tyre distributor Micheldever Tyre Services (MTS) reports that its online effort – the TyreClick on-line solution – is already in use in 1000 sites across the UK.

According to the company, TyreClick provides independent tyre retailers with a unique, fully transactional on-line sales capability in their area, using their identity and most importantly, at their own prices, not a nationally set on-line price offer.

For independents in particular, this capability to sell tyres and services to new customers within their locality has reportedly “been met with delight and delivered significant new business”. Furthermore many of the retailers report “strong traffic and sales from their TyreClick sites in addition to growth in telephone and in-store enquiries”.

Peter Hayden, Wholesale Marketing Manager at MTS commented:  “Around   40 per cent of the tyre orders being received by retailers are from consumers utilising Tyreclick outside of business hours. This is vital because it helps independent tyre retailers to secure and grow share of on-line business which has largely been dominated by nationals until now. We recognise that the independent tyre retail sector is facing huge challenges. Look at France where the independent sector has faced huge contraction over the past five years, and is forecasted to be as low as a 20 per cent market share by 2020.That seriously contrasts with the industry forecasts stating 20 per cent of all tyres purchased per annum in Europe will be online by 2020. TyreClick is a real demonstration of how MTS is supporting the independent sector to meet these challenges and prosper in On line tyre retailing, but under the retailers own terms and control”.
