Two new GT Radial truck and bus tyres come to market

GSW226 (l) and GTL925

Giti Tire has released product details for the two latest additions into its expanding GT Radial truck and bus portfolio – the GSW226 high traction steer axle and GTL925 low platform trailer pattern tyres.

The GSW226 is the brand’s first specific ‘winter’ marked tyre and carries the three peak mountain snow flake (3PMSF) symbol, denoting all-season capabilities and exceptional performance in severe winter conditions including snowy, icy and wet roads. Designed with a wide shoulder groove to deliver optimum handling and stability and a new advanced compound for high mileage potential, the tyre is available immediately in size 385/65R22.5 and carries a index one of 158L, and an index two of 160J.

The GTL925 is a new generation long distance tyre for modern three-metre high mega trailer configurations. An extra wide seven rib low-profile casing and tread results in a very regular wear pattern with low rolling resistance and noise emissions. Wide shoulder ribs increase protection against tearing and impact damage. The tyre is available now in 435/50R19.5 with an index of 160J

“Both of these tyres were first shown at The CV Show and Reifen Essen 2014, and the reaction to both has been extremely positive with the first orders placed by both UK and European customers,” sdaid Peter Foulkes, Giti Tire’s marketing director Europe – Commercial Tires. “We operate with a rolling five-year product plan meaning there will always be a constant stream of new and next generation tyres coming to market, but we also have the flexibility to introduce products as and when we see a requirement in the marketplace or a development in CV vehicle technology.”

Through state-of-the-art research and development capabilities, Giti Tire aims to offer with its GT Radial brand a specifically designed European mission-matched product range, providing a highly attractive mid-tier solution for CV operators who are looking for a high quality product with excellent value-added fleet service. Giti Tire says all new heavy truck and bus products are the result of the company’s advanced testing and evaluation programme, with more than 1,000 tyres on field test across Europe at anytime. The casings of each are designed for retreading using both pre-cure and mould cure processes.
