Aeolus partnership extension and Blacklion TBR addition highlights of KRT’s 2014

2014 has seen Kings Road Tyres sign a new agreement extending its 10-year exclusivity deal for Aeolus TBR and OTR tyres and the announcement of another exclusive UK partnership, with the Blacklion TBR range, amongst other things.

The decade-long partnership with Aeolus has seen the brand gain status and popularity as a premium budget tyre offering end users a powerful price-performance package. In tailoring its products to the needs of the UK market, Aeolus was among the first Chinese truck tyre manufacturers to supply casings suitable for both retreading and regrooving.

Among recent additions to the Aeolus truck tyre range is the ADC53 Mixed Service rear axle fitment in sizes 11R22.5, 12.00R20, 12R22.5, 13R22.5, 295/80R22.5 and 315/80R22.5, featuring a tough, hard-wearing, three row block-type tread pattern. The city bus range has been supplemented with the AGB20, produced for urban use and featuring an extremely robust casing structure and side wall to handle kerbing damage and potholes. It is available in popular sizes 11R22.5, 275/70R22.5 and 295/80R22.5.

Full details of size, application and technical details for the comprehensive ranges of products covering Regional Haul, Long Haul, Mixed Service and City Urban products for commercial vehicle, coach, city buses, low loaders, semi-trailers and tippers are available at www.aeolustyres.co.uk.

Blacklion TBR added to portfolio

KRT’s exclusive distribution agreement for the Jinyu-manufactured Blacklion TBR brand was announced at the Reifen exhibition. The initial range currently includes six sizes with EU labelling, which will increase to 20 sizes by the end of 2014 and 50+ sizes by mid- 2015, covering popular truck, bus and coach applications.

Blacklion joins the Aeolus, Antyre and Fullrun brands in the KRT portfolio, offering commercial customers four quality ranges covering all price points in the highly competitive budget sector.

As one of the UK’s leading wholesale suppliers to the haulage and logistics sector, KRT offers a full portfolio of tyres from premium to mid-range and budget products.

In the mid-range market, KRT is the exclusive UK distributor of Matador TBR tyres. Matador is a long-established brand with a tyre-making heritage dating back to 1925. All Matador products continue to be manufactured in Europe, rather than lower production cost countries. As part of its marketing and dealer support for the Matador brand KRT operates a dedicated website at www.matadortyres.co.uk. This provides full details of the product portfolio of coach, bus and truck applications for City Urban, Regional and Long Haul, Mixed Service and Winter applications.

In the premium truck market KRT is an appointed distributor for Bridgestone, Continental and Goodyear. Access to the latest products from these top brands allows the company to supply dealers servicing fleet customers with high quality tyres designed specifically to meet the operating conditions of this rigorous market.

“Supplying the haulage market requires a full understanding of the customer requirements and expectations of tyre performance,” explains KRT’s Group Operations Manager Tim Bader. “With many years’ experience and expertise to call on we can select and supply the appropriate tyre solution from an inventory that covers the latest premium products through to the most cost-effective budget tyres.”
