TerraClean rallies round for Macmillan Cancer Support

Members of the TerraClean network have teamed up to take part in the Two Ball Rally in a bid to raise much needed funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Two Ball rally is the only European road trip and banger rally where all vehicles are welcome and takes in nine countries covering more than 1200 miles in just four days. The rally will pass through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Monte Carlo and back to France, finishing in Nice. Along the way the rally will pass through the Black Forest of Germany, the famous Stelvio Mountain Pass, Lake Como and Monaco.

The ‘TerraClean on Tour’ team includes: Phillip Dowd and Chris Simblet of Randstad, Chris Warren of Tuna Garage, John Bowen of JB Motor Repairs, Gary Wood of the Diesel Doctor and Andy McClurg of Clurgy Services Ltd.

With a banger vehicle budget of just £567, TerraClean has opted for a 1999 LTi TX1 London Hackney Carriage. It has no air conditioning and has half a million miles on the clock!

The vehicle will be worked on ahead of its planned departure on 14 August by the TerraClean network including Edd China, star of Wheeler Dealers and whose business is an authorised TerraClean service centre.

Although the Two Ball rally is not a race, it is a serious competition and teams will complete outrageous daily challenges that will test their mental state of mind, teamwork, driving and navigational skills.
The TerraClean on Tour team is also offering its social media followers the chance to win some fabulous prizes – donated by its sponsors – if they can accurately guess the taxi fare from one location to another.

At the end of the banger rally teams can either scrap their cars and fly back or drive back through mainland France to the UK. The TerraClean team is attempting to drive the car back to the UK and make it the most used banger car in history.

A just giving page has been set up to raise money at www.justgiving.com/Terracleanontour or people can simply Text TERA69 and their amount to 70070.
