FLG’s Borg & Beck brand capitalising on German growth at Automechanika

The First Line Group (FLG) is to make Frankfurt’s Automechanika “the centrepiece of its export strategy” as it exhibits from its biggest ever stand (5.1 C58) this September. The company’s global Borg & Beck brand, acquired in 2006, will be the primary focus of the stand, displaying high quality clutch kits and components and the OES equivalent braking programme. FLG opened its first Borg & Beck distribution centre in Germany at the beginning of the year, and a move into larger premises is already in the works, increasing the importance of the German aftermarket show.

Speaking in the build up to the event, FLG managing director, Dan Joyner said: “The growth of the export side of the business has its foundations from our consistent participation at Automechanika over many years, but it is with Borg & Beck, a globally respected brand, that our recent accelerated growth has been achieved.

“In January we opened our first distribution centre in Germany and from that platform and the new business we have subsequently won, Borg & Beck GmbH will move into a larger facility in the next few months to cater for the growing demand in Germany and its neighbouring markets.

“As well as a hard fought reputation for supplying high quality replacement parts, the four pillars of our organisation also include the depth of our range, excellent product availability and exceptional customer service. However, alongside these core values we are also well known for our niche products that provide opportunities for the independent aftermarket where traditionally the franchised dealer has appeared to have the only solution.

“Examples of these products include the gear linkage for the GM Corsa, heater control valves for numerous Ford applications, individual wishbone and top strut bushes for the Peugeot 407 and rear trailing arm bushes for the Ford Mondeo/Galaxy and Volvo S60/V70.

“This is just a foretaste of some of what visitors can experience when they come to our stand during the show. We have many products in our range and the benefit of an universally recognised brand, which is why we believe we have a great deal to offer visitors from wherever they are based and are therefore so full of anticipation for another successful event.”

The Borg & Beck portfolio also includes steering and suspension components, water pumps, wheel bearings, cables and a vast range of rubber-to-metal products. Recent introductions also include rotating electrics and turbo hoses and hose clips.
