Continental holds inaugural UK service excellence awards

Two UK truck tyre service providers have received awards for service excellence at Continental Tyres’ Conti360 Partner Conference last month.

The inaugural Conti360° Service Excellence Awards ceremony took place on 16 June, during the company’s 2014 Conti360° partners’ conference, which attended by over 100 Conti360° partners and employees. The Service Excellence awards were presented to BMTR and Tyrewise, who form part of Continental’s network of 110 Conti360° Partners, providing tyre fitment, maintenance and breakdown for fleets throughout the UK. The network has a total of 390 service points and 800 mobile vans.

Warwickshire-based BMTR took home the Conti360° Partners Service Excellence award for the southern region, after it was recognised for its excellent break down response time and efficient administration. Continental shares that the judges were also impressed by the professional manner in which work is carried out by staff for its customers, which include the Co-Operative, Brake Bros, DHL and B&Q.

“We are delighted to be one of the first companies to receive the Conti360° Partners Service Excellence award and it feels great to be recognised by Continental Tyres,” said Paul Smith from BMTR. “It’s testament to our hard work and it’s an award the whole team can be proud of.”

Liverpool’s Tyrewise received the Conti360° Service award thanks to the exceptional service attendance times for customers, which include Boots, Marks and Spencer’s and Next. Its fleet of 14 vans is constantly on the move to ensure its customers’ tyres are managed to their full potential to achieve low running costs and better fuel economy.

“Being a member of the Conti360° network is very important to us as a business and we are honoured to be recognised with the Conti360° Service Excellence award,” shared Barry Lindsay from Tyrewise. “It’s an achievement we can use to show to our customers – old and new – the quality services we can offer with Continental products.”

To mark its status as an official sponsor of this year’s World Cup, Continental’s 2014 Conti360° partners’ conference was held at St George’s Park, a venue the company calls the “home of UK football”. In addition to holding the Conti360° Service Award’s ceremony, Continental displayed some of its latest products, including the third-generation commercial vehicle tyre range and ContiPressureCheck TPMS system.

Commenting on the awards, Tracey Hyem, commercial marketing manager at Continental Tyres, said: “The Conti360° Service Excellence award is judged by a senior management panel of network managers who take into account a number of KPI’s including policy fitment, breakdown response and service level quality. With so many high-quality businesses in our network it was not an easy decision to make.

“All our Conti360° partners in the network work hard to ensure our customers have the best possible service for their tyres and the Service Excellence award is a way for us to show our appreciation.”
