Pirelli offers condolences to Jim Clark Rally victims

Pirelli has expressed its condolences to those affected by two accidents at Saturday’s Jim Clark Rally, which was the second round of the British Rally Championship. Three people were killed and one injured when a race vehicle veered into a crowd at around 4pm, while five people were injured in a similar incident two hours earlier.

“Like the whole of the motorsport community, we were shocked to hear of the terrible events that took place last weekend on the Jim Clark Rally,” stated Pirelli UK managing director Dominic Sandivasci. ”It’s always been a very popular and well-run rally, which makes this an even more tragic occurrence. On behalf on everyone at Pirelli, both in Italy and the United Kingdom, I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of all those affected. We would also like to wish the people who were so unfortunately injured a speedy and complete recovery.”

The race and further events planned for the weekend were cancelled following the fatal accident.
