At the previous Reifen show in 2012, Malhotra Tyres launched its 85 series agricultural radials. The Indian manufacturer says that based on the positive customer response to this range and per its expansion plans, the Malhotra agricultural radial portfolio has now been increased to include 65 series and 95 series ranges. These two new lines were introduced at Reifen 2014. Company director, Mr. Raghav Malhotra, showed Tyres & Accessories the new Farm Xtreme 65, an R-1W agricultural radial, and the 95 series Sprayer RC 950 row crop radial.

The first of these has been created specifically for most modern agricultural applications, and Raghav Malhotra says the tyre was developed with a greater emphasis on working efficiency, safety and comfort. Approved for use up to 65km/h with a ‘D’ speed rating, the Farm Xtreme 65 features a durable compound and self-cleaning lug design tread. Company’s technical head Mr. H.S Nagpal, also refers to a robust casing construction and “premium” tread depth. The first two sizes in this range, 440/65 R24 and 540/65 R34, were already available at the time of Reifen 2014, and a further six sizes will be introduced this year.

The RC 950 row crop radial is designed with round shoulders to minimise impact on crop roots and to reduce soil and plant damage. Nagpal says that the tyre’s optimal lug shape and angles provide excellent grip, while the tread compound employed “guarantees a long lifetime.”

Company director Monit Malhotra states that “the off-road, agricultural and industrial tyre market continues to offer promising opportunity for growth to all, and with the launch of our new range, we are hopeful of increasing our market share in high performance agricultural tyre segment significantly. This new range also comes as an aggressive move towards our expansion plans to increase our radial capacity in the coming years.

“Malhotra Tyre has consistently focused towards extensive R&D and technological innovation to develop products in response to customers’ needs, thereby offering a compelling proposition and we will continue to strive towards developing products that address customer needs,” adds Monit Malhotra.

The company is present in more than 80 countries around the world. Regarding Malhotra Tyres’ business in the UK, Monit Malhotra describes this as flourishing with the company’s exclusive UK distributor, Kirkby Tyres. In addition to agricultural tyres, the company produces earthmover, industrial, commercial and 2/3 wheeler tyres.

Malhotra Tyres belongs to the Malhotra Group of Industries, which in addition to manufacturing tyres and tubes is active in the rubber and retreading businesses, as well as in other sectors, such as real estate and financing. Malhotra Tyres recently was awarded an SPECIAL Export award by Capexil, an export promotion council promoted by India’s Ministry of Commerce, for its outstanding export performance.
