New BBIF chairman

Justin Smith

The British Battery Industry Federation (BBIF) has a new chairman – Justin Smith. Smith is a director of CPC Batteries in Surbiton, Surrey and has been vice-chairman of the BBIF for the past two years. He succeeds Alec Morgan of Banner Batteries.

Justin Smith commented: “In a changing market, with new battery technologies, the BBIF wants its members to be at the fore in advising consumers on appropriate battery purchases. Start-stop technology, for instance, places special demands on batteries which cannot be met by a standard unit. Thus our new information leaflet places a useful tool in the hands of our members when they are satisfying customers’ needs.”

BBIF Members adhere to a Code of Practice and Justin Smith said, “It’s important that professional battery distributors, such as BBIF Members, demonstrate their commitment to providing the very best advice, and back that up with high quality products and the best service. Our Code of Practice will encourage the public to seek out BBIF Members when looking to replace their batteries.”
