GT Radial launches long haul steer, winter truck and bus tyres

GT Radial GSW226 GT Radial's GSW226 winter truck tyre

GT Radial’s Hall 3 stand at Reifen 2014 hosted the launch of two new products alongside the already announced GSR225 Combi Road multi-use tyre. The GTL925 low platform trailer tyre and the GSW226 steer axle winter tyre are both being shown for the first time at Europe’s largest tyre fair.

The GSW226 is GT Radial’s first specific winter tyre, designed for snow, ice and wet roads with three-peaks certification. It is targeted “predominantly at the Nordic countries,” according to marketing director Europe – commercial tyres, Peter Foulkes, and has been designed to provide high mileage potential.

The GTL925 has been designed to provide increased longevity for 3m mega trailers in long distance applications. The tyre has an extra wide low-profile casing, which results in increased regularity in wear. GT Radial also states that the tyre features low rolling resistance and noise, while wide shoulder ribs increase protection against impact damage.

The new tyres join an increasingly wide selection of commercial vehicle tyres within the GT Radial product portfolio. “Many of the products on show make their debut at Reifen 2014, such is the number of launches and next generation upgrades we have brought to market in the last two years alone,” said Foulkes.

“Above this we are very proud to show the GSW226 and GTL925, which tell every visitor to the stand that our substantial investment in state-of-the-art research and development capabilities is continuing to bring tyres to market, and I can state confidently the future product pipeline is looking strong.

“GT Radial has a very definitive place in the market, and that is a leading mid-tier tyre brand with both the products and value-added fleet services to justify this position. With a hugely comprehensive, European designed, mission-matched product range, we will continue to go from strength to strength.
