Yokohama sees demand for SUV and 4×4 tyres rise in the UK

Japanese tyre manufacturer Yokohama reports that it has seen demand for its range of SUV and 4×4 tyres in the UK increase in recent years. According to the company, this is due in part to increased numbers for so-called soft-roaders but also the increased awareness of the Yokohama range of SUV and 4×4 tyres.

Yokohama has a wide range of SUV and 4×4 tyres available to the UK market, ranging from the Geolandar SUV, designed for SUVs and featuring Yokohama’s BluEarth environmental credentials, through the H/T-S and the A/T-S models, intended for more off-road applications to the M/T+, designed for full mud and sand conditions.

The range also features winter-specific tyres, with the I/T+ featuring the three peaks and snowflake symbol, identifying it as a genuine winter
4×4 tyre.

In addition, with British winters becoming increasingly harsh, many people are resorting to four wheel-drives to ensure that when driving in severe weather they are able to continue on their journeys. This resurgence in demand for 4x4s has led to a corresponding hike in demand for tyres.
