Lanxess’ operation in India, Lanxess India Private Limited, has pledged to support the Teach For India programme for a further five years. The company has been involved in the non-profit organisation since 2010 and will donate approximately Rs 5.3 million (£51,000) a year.

Teach For India is a nationwide NGO that aims to eliminate inequity in education in India. Through its Fellowship program, TFI recruits qualified college graduates and working professionals to serve as full-time teachers in low-income schools for two years. “We appreciate the work that Teach For India is doing in imparting quality education to school children and are happy to partner them in this cause,” commented Dr. Joerg Strassburger, managing director and country representative, Lanxess India. “At Lanxess, we believe that education is the key to the future and are pleased to support Teach For India, in spreading the light of knowledge.”

Gayatri Lobo, chief operating officer, Teach For India, added” “Teach For India feels proud to be associated with Lanxess since 2010. Lanxess has always been a strong supporter of our beliefs. At TFI, it is our vision that one day all children will attain an excellent education. We understand the importance of education but more importantly, we understand the value of children’s lives and the potential in every one of them.”
