Falken joins TyreSafe

If parents don’t get it, perhaps their kids will – Matt Smith explains tyre safety to primary school children

TyreSafe shares that Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is the latest tyre maker to sign up as a member. Punning the avian ring to the tyre maker’s name, the tyre safety organisation’s chairman commented that “it’s fantastic news to welcome Falken to the TyreSafe nest thanks to the sterling work they’re already doing.”

The work Stuart Jackson referred to includes Falken’s own tyre safety survey; this was conducted outside a primary school and showed more than 30 per cent of parents’ cars to have at least one illegal tyre. “Although alarming, unfortunately I don’t think the results from Falken’s primary school tyre safety survey are unusual,” he commented. “It goes to show that joining TyreSafe and helping us spread the tyre safety message is vitally important work.”

Matt Smith, Falken’s director for the UK & Ireland, added: “Falken places tyre safety at the centre of everything it does and while we’re making a difference ourselves with such initiatives as our school tyre safety survey, there’s no doubt that joining TyreSafe will give added weight to our activity.”
