GM, Fiat Chrysler honour Giti Tire as supplier

Torsten Gehrmann, general manager of Giti Tire Anhui, after accepting the GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award

Giti Tire shares that in recent months it has received awards from two major OEM customers. At a ceremony held in China in late September, Chinese PCR and TBR plant Giti Tire (Fujian) Co Ltd was presented with a Fiat Chrysler 2012 APAC Perfect Quality Award, and the company’s first and largest Chinese operation, Giti Radial Tire (Anhui) Co Ltd, received a GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award.

Giti Tire has maintained a cooperative relationship with General Motors over a number of years and has received a total of eight awards since 2005, including several Best Supplier awards. In 2012 GM established a new Supplier Quality Excellence Award, which Giti Tire has now won two years in a row. Giti Tire currently supplies tyres to more than ten vehicle factories around the world and participates in OEM deals in China, Uzbekistan, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and other countries.

As a Fiat strategic partner, Giti Tire was presented with the Fiat Chrysler Perfect Quality Award in recognition of the quality its products and technical services. Giti Tire has cooperated with Fiat for five years now and supplies tyres to Fiat Europe’s three factories. “Excellent product quality is the foundation to our successful reputation and the reason behind our awards from renowned automobile manufacturers,” wrote an unnamed Giti Tire official in a press release.
