Dunlop to sponsor Dantec Husqvarna UK motocross team

Dunlop says it is delighted to announce the sponsorship of Dantec Husqvarna UK for the 2014 motocross season.  The former Evotech Stevens KTM team is the official Husqvarna MX1 and MX2 team for the UK with a three rider line-up; the team has retained Steven Lenoir to compete in the MX2 class and has announced the signing of 19 year-old Nathan Watson for MX1, as well as 17 year-old MXY2 rider Tony Saunders to complete the squad.

The riders are due to compete in all rounds of the British Motocross Championship as well as the Red Bull Pro Nationals and selected GPs. Watson’s 450 and Lenoir and Watson’s 250 Husqvarna bikes will be shod with Dunlop’s latest Geomax MX32 and MX52 tyres, which were developed during the 2013 MX World Championship. Available in the UK, from January 2014, Dunlop shares that the tyres have been designed to deliver enhanced corner grip, better slide control, straight line traction and durability across an array of hard packed and soft terrains.

“We’re really pleased to be working alongside Dantec Husqvarna in the forthcoming season”, commented Mark Sears, Dunlop’s motorcycle product support manager, “Each of the riders have a bright future ahead of them and we are looking forward to see them develop even further, as a team. Dunlop’s association with Motocross goes back to the very beginnings of the sport. Since then, we have been dedicated to development, not only to compete in the AMA and FIM World championships but for all of our riders.

We wish the entire Dantec Husqvarna team the best of luck in 2014.”
