Snap, post, tag and win – Michelin launches truck-oriented contest

Michelin offers monthly prizes to particularly captivating photos

To showcase the launch of its new X Multi D tyre, Michelin has introduced an Instagram-based contest aimed at the trucking community. Called ‘Deliver Everywhere’, the contest invites truck drivers and others to showcase their brands in “some of the unusual, out-of the-way places in which they operate.” Truckers based in the UK and 13 other European countries are eligible to participate.

The contest requires the addition of the #MICHELINXMULTI hashtag to photos already shown on Instagram; alternately, photos can be uploaded through the delivereverywhere.trucks.michelin.eu site. Each month, through to the end of June 2014, awards will be presented for the most outstanding delivery photographs of vehicles, landscapes and people. The photograph must also include a truck. Participating truckers can win iPad minis, Bibendum watches or lamps, and many other prizes.

“With the Deliver Everywhere contest on Instagram, Michelin is reaffirming its close ties with transport companies in a way that is playful, connected, innovative and interactive,” wrote the tyre maker in a press release, adding that Instagram offers a potential audience of 130 million global users and features more than 600,000 photos bearing the #truck hashtag.
