Cooper awarded at SEMA

Cooper Tire shares that it received a ‘Global Media Award’ at this month’s SEMA Show/Global Tire Expo for introducing the new Mastercraft Courser MXT at the show. In addition, the Cooper Zeon RS3-S (in size 325/30R19) was named a runner-up in the New Products Showcase in the Tire and Related Product category.

The Global Media Awards are chosen from a panel of top automotive journalists from 15 countries throughout Asia, Europe, South Africa and South America and are based on the level of customer appeal within each journalist’s respective country, the tyre maker said. The New Products Showcase awards recognise the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or available for shipment.

“To be recognised with product awards for the Courser MXT and the RS3-S is an incredible accolade,” said Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s director of product management. “These awards recognise the proven and innovative technology that goes into every tyre we make. The RS3-S provides a great choice for C6 Corvette owners with its wide design, while the Courser MXT is an extreme off-road mud terrain tyre that is perfect for light truck owners and extreme off-roaders.”

The Courser MXT, for extreme off-roading performance, features a deep, functional “side biter” design that enables the tire to propel through the toughest off-road conditions with improved maximum traction, according to Cooper, which added that the tyre is pinned for studs and offers strategically placed sipes for better grip on wet surfaces and in icy conditions.

The Cooper Zeon RS3-S UHP summer tyre combines world-class dry road traction, handling and cornering with outstanding appearance, the tyre maker said, adding the tyre’s tread compounds are specifically formulated to combine dry and wet traction with crisp handling and high speed capabilities.  (Tire Review)
