Conti celebrates World Quality Day

Didn’t know today was World Quality Day? Neither did we. Nevertheless, the United Nations-established event has been held since 1990 and aims to increase worldwide awareness of the important contribution quality makes to national and organisational growth and prosperity. Continental says 16 of its Tire division locations around the world are participating in the day; under the slogan “Continuously Striving for Best in Class in Quality, employees will organise events and activities in order to raise quality awareness. They will also be given insights into what quality means and how they can actively help sustain and improve quality standards.

“Customer satisfaction through premium quality is vital for us in order to achieve the growth and value creation targets that we have set ourselves as part of our Vision 2025. With excellent quality in products, service and supply, we ensure our reputation as a reliable partner for our customers around the world,” remarks Claus Petschick, head of quality management within Continental’s Tire division.

Continental opines that employee involvement and understanding is vital for the ongoing delivery of premium quality products and processes. “Premium quality in products can only be achieved through excellence in all business and production processes. This is where our team clearly makes the difference. Their commitment and determination are an important factor for our way to our Vision 2025,” adds Jens Schöning, head of commercial vehicle tyre quality management at Continental.

Locations celebrating World Quality Day this week are Aachen, Hannover-Stöcken, Korbach (Germany), Otrokovice (Czech Republic), Puchov (Slovakia), Lousado (Portugal), Timisoara (Romania), Sarrguemines (France), Kaluga (Russia), Camacari (Brazil), Cuenca (Ecuador), Fort Mill (USA), Alor Setar, Petaling Jaya (Malaysia), Modipuram (India) and Hefei (China).
