TRW facilities honoured for quality of GM supply

TRW Automotive Holdings was recently awarded the 2013 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award for “achieving consistently high levels of quality performance” during the past year at then of its manufacturing facilities.

The ten TRW sites honoured with the award are: Ansan TSCL, South Korea – steering systems; Langfang LVLB, China – brake systems; Anting, China – brake systems, slip control systems; Beckedorf, Germany – engine valves; Bricherasio, Italy – air bags, steering wheels; Marion, United States – steering systems; Incheon, South Korea – fasteners; Orleans, France – engine valves; Czestochowa, Poland – air bags, seat belts; Koblenz, Germany – brake systems, slip control systems.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that ten of our facilities around the world were chosen by General Motors to receive the Quality Excellence Award,” said PeterLake, executive vice-president, sales and business development, TRW. “Being recognised for top performance in areas such as quality and customer satisfaction demonstrates our company’s dedication to being a solutions provider and partner to our customers. Having our employees recognised for their hard work and dedication is something to celebrate.”

General Motors’ Supplier Quality Excellence Award is focused on improving collaboration with suppliers. Winning suppliers, including all ten of the TRW facilities, met more than 12 quality criteria during a 12-month period that ended on 30 June. “TRW helped play a critical role in GM’s success in 2013 through its dedication and commitment to consistently exceed our expectations by being innovative, delivering high quality products and services on time and by creating outstanding value,” said Grace Lieblein, General Motors’ vice-president, global purchasing and supply chain
