Site secured for Bridgestone’s new Turkish plant

A site has been found for Bridgestone’s second plant in Turkey. On 4 October the company announced that  Brisa Bridgestone Sabancı Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş has reached an agreement with Aksaray Province Organized Industrial Zone regarding the acquisition of land for the construction of the new passenger car radial factory.

The plant will be located on a 96 hectare site some 300 miles (500 kilometres) southeast of Istanbul. Bridgestone anticipates a January 2018 production start, with capacity reaching around 13,000 tyres a day in the second half of 2022. Total investment in the project is estimated to be ¥28 billion (£177.2 million).
