New mining tyre for Bridgestone Americas

Bridgestone Americas has added a new radial tyre, the V-Steel Super Deep Rock (VSDR), to it portfolio of mining tyre products, Tire Review reports. “Customer feedback guides and drives us to create better, smarter tyres that meet end-user needs and the new VSDR premium radial tyre is a result,” said Bert Jones, manager of commercial tire marketing. “We took the popular V-Steel D-Lug (VSDL) off-the-road radial tyre and improved tread wear capability. When compared to the VSDL, the tread wear of the new VSDR improves up to six percent, depending upon application.”

The tyre is designed to meet the demands of mining and waste operations, the tyre-maker said. The VSDR comes with a 20.5R25 1* rating, designed for use on rock surfaces found in pits and quarries, and in a 2* rating, ideal for underground use, for loaders and dozers.

Additionally the tyre features multi-ply steel belts and a unique shape as well as an extra-deep tread that helps protect tread and sidewall from cuts for a longer tyre life, Bridgestone said. (Tire Review)
