Masinelli appointed global brand head Vredestein

New Vredestein global brand head, Giovanni Masinelli

Vredestein has announced the appointment of Giovanni Masinelli as global brand head Vredestein, joining the global marketing team based in Apollo Vredestein’s London office. He will start operating in his new role on 1 November 2013, reporting to Marco Paracciani, chief marketing officer, global. Masinelli was previously the company’s country manager in Italy, a role in which he is succeeded by Stefano Sbarzaglia, in another internal promotion.

Masinelli will handle the Vredestein brand globally, working alongside zonal marketing teams to deploy the brand across a number of regions. Apollo Vredestein said Masinelli would “drive [the Vredestein brand’s] market segmentation, brand architecture and thereby the brand’s unique value proposition.”

Masinelli had been Apollo Vredestein country manager in Italy since 1995, and was instrumental in setting up the Italian branch of Apollo Vredestein. The company says he has established Apollo Vredestein as a “tier one premium product” on the highly competitive Italian market. Before joining Apollo Vredestein, he worked in the Italian tyre industry. He has a degree in Sociology (Marketing, Communication and Media) from University of Urbino.

Sbarzaglia will follow Giovanni Masinelli as the new country manager Italy from 1 November 2013. He joined the subsidiary in 1999, with one of his responsibilities being the CSV franchise network.
