Kumho names Cash for Causes 2013 winner

Kumho Tyres awarded Kindlington Guides £5,000 in its second annual Cash for Causes competition. More than 400 charities and good causes signed up for the tyre manufacturer’s online public voting contest, sharing a fund of £100,000. Kumho Tyres’ marketing director, John Thrupp, said: “Helping communities and supporting worthwhile causes is part of Kumho’s Korean heritage and emphasises the importance of social responsibilities to companies.

“We’ve been thrilled with the way this campaign has grown this year, votes were incredibly close up to the last moment and we’d like to say well done to all the causes which took part.”

The Kidlington group won the largest proportion of the 12,000 votes cast, winning an extra £5,000 on top of their share of the £100,000. The local guiding group was nominated by Kidlington Tyres & Exhausts and, with support for the Kidlington community, secured a 14 per cent share of the public vote online.
