Move to new Goodyear HQ begins

Date: 20th February 2013 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The first employees are making themselves at home in Goodyear’s new global headquarters. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, around 200 employees from the tyre maker’s information technology and finance departments started work in the new US$120 million facility on 18 February. Eventually as many as 2,000 employees will work there.

Groundbreaking for the facility – which is located in Akron, the tyre maker’s home town since 1898 – took place early in 2011 and the headquarters was topped out in November that year. When the move to the new headquarters is complete, the former headquarters site and Goodyear Hall will be redeveloped into new offices, retail space, restaurants and apartments.
