Bond and a set of spanners – every woman’s dream?

Date: 14th February 2013 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Being ‘serviced’ by Daniel Craig is perhaps not everyone’s idea of a pleasant day, but it appears that quite a few female motorists wouldn’t mind having the James Bond star as their personal motor mechanic. This factoid emerged during a consumer survey Micheldever Tyre Services carried out for Valentine’s Day.

Women answering the online survey questions felt that the 007 star would be more technically competent to deal with car servicing than David Beckham, who came second in the survey. Musical wonder boy Justin Bieber was clearly thought of as being too inexperienced, as only one per cent of women thought he would make a good mechanic.

It also appears that chivalry is dead, as almost 50 per cent of men questioned said they would not stop at the roadside to help a lady in distress trying to change a tyre. However, 18 per cent said they’d stop to help Joanna Lumley and 12 per cent would pull over for Cheryl Cole. Only three per cent of men said that they would stop to help Adele.

The survey was conducted by Micheldever/Protyre and involved an online survey of 1,600 males and females.
