Rema Tip Top Automotive UK unveils Probalance NG

Date: 28th November 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The team at Rema Tip Top Automotive say they’re just a little bit excited by the new Probalance NG (Next Generation), which the company launched in the UK at October’s Brityrex 2012 show. Pre-orders for the unit are described as “astounding”, and the team of engineers at Rema Tip Top believe this to be the most technologically advanced machine of its type.

The Probalance NG offers ‘vibration diagnostics’ – at, says Rema Tip Top, unerring speed and efficiency. Within six seconds the NG is able to determine wheel balance, rim eccentricity, tyre eccentricity, direct matching, tread depth and tyre set. As would be expected, the NG is specifically designed to reduce the load on the wheel technician, with ‘Automation’, ‘Accessibility, and ‘Ergonomics’ at the heart of its creation.

“Rema Tip Top have realised the future with a thoroughbred machine that reduces manual operation and promotes built-in automation to measure wheel size, balancing values (processing optimum) and eccentricity of tyre, rim and wheel,” shares the West Yorkshire-based company. “Much like a performance, when the curtain is raised, the NG stirs into action with the exclusive ‘Zero Weight’ wheel lift, elevating the wheel, perfectly centring and precisely guiding onto its Pneumatic flange.”

The technician is aided by a full colour LCD diagnostic touch screen, which will calculate and visualise wheel dimension via its internal and radial laser. The Sonar system automatically records wheel width and a Laser pointer is deployed for fast and exact positioning of weights in the rim. The NG also provides automatic recommendation of the appropriate optimisation procedure to minimise eccentricity.

The NG’s ‘EWA Easy Wheel Access’, provides the operator with comfortable distance to clean the rim and or apply weights to the wheel. Its LED light within the pneumatic flange also provides clear visibility for closer inspection during the balancing process.

The NG is finished off with tidy weight and tool storage, and clear printouts are produced on request with the on board printer that comes as standard with the NG model. The key facets of this machine – technology and automation – are very much concealed within the skin of the NG, but Rema Tip Top comments that great design is transparent and says that, combined with its slick lines, clever construction and ergonomic design, the NG must be considered as one of the most complete balancers ever made.
