CAM launches Online Tyre Catalogue

Date: 23rd October 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Need to find a tyre label? CAM Systems is inviting you to try its new Online Tyre Catalogue (OTC). Showcased at Brityrex 2012, the system has been developed in parallel with but distinct from the company’s tyre labelling and CRM solutions that were also launched at the show.

The idea is to provide the UK tyre industry with a central tyre data hub that helps address the requirements of the 1 November EU legislation and improves product data management in conjunction with Cameo’s stock management facilities. And what’s more the information is being made available via the web.

Over 60 tyre manufacturers and importers have already had their product data uploaded into the OTC, developing it into a tyre solution that adds value beyond merely aiding legislative compliance. By working on OTC’s design with major OEMs, the catalogue already provides a wide range of updates, information and visuals – such as tyre labels, tread graphics and manufacturer logos – across all available categories of tyre, not just those affected by the forthcoming legislation.

The Online Tyre Catalogue also helps enable the consumer – who will be able to access the OTC free of charge – to make an informed choice about a tyre product and its rolling resistance, wet braking and noise characteristics when weighing up their tyre purchase options.

Mike Allen, managing director of CAM Systems, says:  “Tyre Labelling represents an opportunity to gain process efficiencies throughout the industry via data sharing around the EU Directive. OEMs and importers have been working with us at CAM Systems to utilise the Online Tyre Catalogue to help promote their certified tyre products into the UK market.”
