Sailun Ice Blazer winter tyre available in Europe

Date: 14th September 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Sailun says its winter tyres has been established in the North American and Canadian market for several years, and the company is now seeking to increase its seasonal prominence in Europe with its Ice Blazer range. Sailun is accessing the continental markets through appointed distributors covering traditionally strong winter tyre markets in Scandinavia and the Baltic region, as well as in Germany, where recent legislation has increased the profile of winter products, and Austria. Now, Sailun says it is seeking to add distribution of the product to the more temperate climates of France, Benelux and the UK, where it says distributors are “considering stocking the Ice Blazer patterns”.

The Ice Blazer range comprises three major patterns, in both studdable and – more relevantly to the British market – stud-less patterns. The un-studded WSL2 performance winter tyre comes in 33 sizes, and boasts a directional tread design with curved grooves to keep the tread clean and increase traction.

Its wide profile is designed to deliver increased handling and improved road feel for all weather conditions. The WSL2 has the snowflake symbol, signifying the fact that the tyre is engineered with “severe snow service compounding”, while strategically positioned siping and grooves provide improved traction while maintaining good lateral stability.

Also in the range are studdable tyres in both PCR and light truck fitments. The Ice Blazer WST1 comes in 58 sizes with a directional tread design. Like the WST1, it has curved grooves, but a further traction enhancement is the series of 12 stud rows. It also has a wide profile to improve road feel, a snowflake symbol and strategically positioned siping and grooves.

Studdable light truck Ice Blazer

The Ice Blazer WST2 LT is a studdable light truck winter tyre with a zigzag sipe design to increase wet traction and winter performance. The tyre also has deep circumferential and lateral grooves to remove slush and water from the tread area. The tyre is made with a silica enhanced rubber compound for improved wet and snow traction, while the tyre also boasts improved comfort with a variable pitch sequence to deliver a quiet, smooth ride.

It also has a solid centre rib to improve stability, an optimised stud pinhole design to increase the number of studs for superior ice traction. Wide shoulders work to reduce road noise and improve lateral stability. The tyre carries the snowflake symbol and is available in six sizes.
