Interstate adds 3 winter lines increasing size of range to 120

Date: 10th September 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Dutch tyre wholesaler Interstate Tire & Rubber Co. has added three new winter lines to its 2012 winter programme, which now covers van and SUV sizes, as well as including a fully studdable PCR-light truck line. The three new winter tyres join the popular the popular Winter IWT-2 EVO line, meaning that the company now offers over 120 unique sizes in its private brand winter line-up. The wholesaler says that the new additions mean that its own brand has 11 tyre lines and over 250 sizes in what it calls the “premium-budget segment”.

Joining the Interstate Winter IWT-2 EVO, which is available in more than 30 sizes, are the Interstate Winter Van IWT-ST (studdable), the Interstate Winter SUV IWT-3D, and the Interstate Winterclaw ExtremeGrip MX (studdable). Interstate says that all lines are available immediately and come with EU tyre labels.

The Interstate Winter Van IWT-ST (studdable) is labelled F-B-2 (though, as with all their tyres, Interstate makes the point that these scores can vary by size). It provides improved stability, according to Interstate, with better grip and traction optionally aided by newly designed and strategically placed stud holes.

The new special winter tyre for small commercial vehicles, vans and motor homes, the Interstate Winter Van IWT-ST, is also designed to provide good durability, having been designed with a sturdy construction for heavy-duty use. Interstate says the new tyre has improved wear resistance and driving stability, providing “a precise, logical and balanced driving experience”. The tyre is also designed to conform to the new 2013 Scandinavian stud law. It is available in sizes from 185R14C to 235/65R16C.

The Interstate Winter SUV IWT-3D scores E-B-3 on the label, again impressing in wet grip. The tyre is designed for modern SUVs to provide traction on the changeable road conditions encountered during winter. It features 3D siped-blades in the centre zone of the tread, providing “biting edges” to enhance starting and stopping power on snow and ice. It comes in sizes between 235/60R16 and 255/50R19.

Finally the Interstate Winterclaw ExtremeGrip MX (studdable) is a complete studdable line of 53 sizes in passenger, SUV and Light truck. Labelled F-C-2, the tyre has an aggressive tread pattern with curved grooves to keep the tread clean and provide improved traction on wet and slush covered roads. Conforming to the new 2013 Scandinavian stud law, the tyre is also very capable without studs, according to Interstate. Sizes range from 155/80R13 to 275/55R20 and LT265/70R17.
