Hankook kicks off UEFA Europa League sponsorship

Date: 4th September 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Hankook has expressed its delight at the start of a new partnership with the UEFA Europa League, which “kicked off” on 3 September. Representatives from the tyre maker and the football league celebrated the arrangement at a ceremony prior to the official 2012/13 UEFA Europa League Group Stage draw at the Monegasque Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Reporting the occasion, Hankook said the new partnership represents “yet another milestone in the company’s European marketing approach to sustainably increase brand awareness in one of the tyre manufacturer’s most important markets and reinforces Hankook’s long-standing engagement in European football.”

The tyre maker’s partnership with the UEFA Europa League covers both the 2012/13 and 2014/15 seasons. As a part of the sponsorship, Hankook will benefit from extensive brand exposure such as perimeter board advertising in stadiums, media backdrops during flash interviews as well as during the official UEFA Europa League press conferences – thus exposing both fans at the stadium at the television audience to the Hankook brand.

“We are excited about our new partnership with the UEFA Europa League. Football sponsorships represent an integral component of our European marketing strategy,” commented Hee-Se Ahn, vice-president marketing, Hankook Tire Europe. “Both Hankook and the UEFA Europa League stand out because of their passion for excellence and enthusiasm for their ‘sports’. While the UEFA Europa League brings together some of the best clubs and most outstanding football talents in Europe, Hankook continuously strives to provide the best quality and latest technological innovations in tyres. The emotionality and the enthusiasm for football that the UEFA Europa League embodies is a perfect match to our company motto ‘Driving Emotion’.”

“The UEFA Europa League is Europe’s biggest club competition, boasting many talented international players and high quality clubs from all around Europe,” added UEFA Events SA CEO David Taylor. “We are delighted to welcome tyre manufacturer Hankook, as another top global brand, to the UEFA Europa League family. Hankook is known for its premium quality, especially in the field of ultra-high-performance tyres and has many fans mainly among young-minded motorists. We look forward to joining forces with Hankook to build up the competition awareness and engage with fans.”
