Three new products and lots of interest at Gaither Tool
Visitors to Hall One at Reifen 2012 will have noticed periodic loud bangs emanating from the Gaither Europe stand, where the Netherlands based company was demonstrating its innovative Bead Bazooka product, a hand-held rapid air release tool for seating tubeless tyre beads. The company said it was rolling out a nine litre “XL” version of the product at Reifen and forthcoming European shows, having displayed the six litre model at SEMA. TÜV approved, the tool was also nominated for an innovation award.
The Bazooka releases an instantaneous blast of air that seats the tyre on the rim using a powerful automatic release system. The trigger mechanism allows technicians to keep both hands on the tank for more control, making it safer than manual release tanks – a feature that allowed anyone visiting the stand to try it out. The Bazooka will work on truck (including super singles), passenger, motorcycle, ATV and small agricultural tyres, with increased portability – a feature that will appeal to the increasingly mobile tyre servicing professional. The smaller tank of the current generation makes it easier to handle, with its light weight (the six litre version is 5.5kg) reducing stress on the technician.
Richard Brahler II, president of Gaither Tool Company in the USA, emphasised the speed and ease of refilling the unit, but also told Tyres & Accessories that the aesthetically pleasing unit was designed to appeal to its user too. The element of fun in handling a large, gun-like object was emphasised on the stand as ‘Gaither Girls’ encouraged visitors to sample the new products.
Ralph Dubbeldam states that without exception, Reifen 2012 was the best show ever: “We have been exhibiting for the past twenty years and this show was by far our most productive with anticipated sales of our Bazooka ranges exceeded several times over.”
Gaither also launched its new low profile GT 4532 Jack which has a 45/20T capacity and is now the company’s leading model in a range of popular industrial jacks. A completely new manual tyre changer was on display for the first time – the GT 12770 caters for wheels up to 22 inches.
