Micheldever appoints GT Radial brand manager
Inspired by a “strong product offering”, large UK wholesaler Micheldever Tyre Services has appointed Matt Horscroft to the newly created position of GT Radial brand manager. GT Radial's distributor in the UK, Micheldever has forged a strong relationship with the GITI Tire-manufactured brand. GT Radial general manager UK, Brian McDermott has described Micheldever's commitment as “unquestionable”. In return, Micheldever said that GT Radial’s commitment to quality – demonstrated recently at MIRA (see Tyres & Accessories’ June edition for details) – and comprehensive new product programme had inspired the creation of the role. Horscroft has over 22 years in the sector with manufacturer and distributor experience gained in sales, marketing and purchasing roles.
Horscroft said: “I, alongside some suitably impressed dealers, have already seen the fantastic quality of the products demonstrated at GT Radial’s European Technical Centre at MIRA. It is a great time to join with new products such as the UHP1 and VP1 being launched in the UK, and more in the pipeline.
“I am looking forward to working with the GT Radial team to really develop the market offering and further boost the total support for the GT Performance Centres.”
Brian McDermott welcomed the appointment and the potential for future growth, as well as citing the strong relationship between the two companies: “Micheldever has shown an unquestionable commitment to us by appointing a full time person to the GT Radial brand, especially an individual with the market knowledge, contacts and integrity of Matt.”
“We have already identified some key sizes for future development and we will also look to utilise my comprehensive understanding of the ever-growing high performance and ultra high performance sectors. Add to this the support of the network and the opportunities are limitless.”
McDermott himself joined GT Radial in November 2011 after 21 years with Pirelli; the last 15 of which were spent as key account sales manager, which saw him forge a close working relationship with Micheldever Tyres Services.
