Goodyear receives US magazine commendations

Date: 12th January 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has received plaudits from American consumer magazine, Consumers Digest in its January/February 2012 issue. In the “All-Season Car Tires” category, Goodyear’s Assurance TripleTred All-Season was the editors’ selected Premium tyre, receiving “Best Buy” designation. The company’s Assurance ComforTred Touring was awarded a Best Buy label in the “Touring Car Tires” category.

“We are pleased that yet another independent expert has recognized the superior performance and tremendous value of our tyres,” said Scott Rogers, chief marketing officer, Goodyear Consumer Tires. “Goodyear’s product development efforts have focused on advancements that are technologically innovative, but which also offer discernible benefits to consumers who drive on our tyres.”

Consumer Digest’s report noted that the testers had been “impressed particularly by the Assurance TripleTred’s unique grooves, which change as a tyre wears and seemed to give us the best grip among all-season tyres that we tried on a wet road.”

The Assurance ComforTred Touring was called “the best touring car tyre that you can buy in this price range.” The editors noted: “We like the special padding that’s built into the tread, because it gives this model the quietest ride that we found among midrange touring car tyres.”
