Cam Systems introduces VMware

Date: 15th November 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Independent tyre dealer software provider, Cam Systems has introduced its new VMware component, part of its .NET development. VMware allows companies to invest in a robust virtualised processing environment that the company says is flexible and able to deliver greater scope for growth. VMware allows businesses to run multiple virtual machines, housing applications such as Cameo, CRM and UniSerV on as few as two physical units.

Each operating layer shares the resources of the combined processing power, meaning that customers can map their processing as needed and add new physical machines as they grow. It also allows users to maintain operations even if one of their machines breaks down. It can also help businesses save on overall hardware and related processing costs by consolidating resources and enabling the infrastructure to run more efficiently. Virtualisation also offers greater flexibility surrounding options for high availability and Disaster Recovery Planning, including systematic failover support.

Mike Allen, managing director of Cam Systems, says:  “The virtual environment is built on business-oriented architecture, which transforms or ‘virtualises’ the hardware associated with a normal computer to create a fully working virtual machine that exhibits all of the performance characteristics of a dedicated server for each of a number of applications, but with all of the innate resilience of a High Availability hardware platform. As a result, customers can be assured of a more stable and flexible IT environment that plans for growth and is protected if a physical server misfires.”
