Westlake support ‘a boost’ for Brityrex 2012

Date: 31st October 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Westlake Tyres, which are manufacturer by ZC Rubber (China largest domestic producer and number 10 in the world), has confirmed that it will exhibit at next October’s Brityrex International exhibition in Manchester. The latest news is being interpreted as a real boost for the 2012 Brityrex exhibition as ZC Rubber is a fast-growing international player with annual sales in 2010 of more than US$ 3 billion.

Commenting on the decision, Harjeev Kandhari, managing director of Westlake distributor Eskay Tyres, said: “As a leading global tyre manufacturer we are an active supporter of specialist industry shows around the world. We believe the UK should have its own exhibition that fully represents the status and prestige of the market. The only way for that to happen is for the major players, like Westlake, to get behind Brityrex and by pledging our support for the show we hope others will also be persuaded to show the same commitment.”

Westlake recently appointed Axle Group Holdings – which owns National Tyres and Autocare and Viking International – as sole distributor of its passenger car tyres in the UK.

Paul Farrant, managing director of Brityrex organiser ECI International, commented: “Having Westlake as an exhibitor is a tremendous boost for the exhibition and a real coup. We look forward to working with one of the real giants of the manufacturing industry and hope that their decision will influence other major suppliers to add their weight and get behind making Brityrex a real success in 2012.”

Brityrex International 2012 will be held at a new venue, the prestigious EventCity close to the Trafford Centre. Show sponsor the NTDA has scheduled its popular annual dinner and TAFF Awards to coincide with the show on Wednesday 10 October 2012. The show will run from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 October 2012.
