Date: 1st February 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Toyo Tire USA (TTC) has hired former Pentel of America chief operating officer Marty Furman as the company’s new COO. In his new role, Furman will manage all functional departments at TTC, including Technical Services, Sales, Marketing, and Pricing. He will report directly to company president and CEO Yasushi Takagi.

“I am pleased to welcome Marty Furman as the first chief operating officer of Toyo Tire USA,” said Takagi.  “He brings a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge, which I believe will greatly benefit our company as well as our dealers.”

Furman’s prior management experience includes positions with high-profile companies such Procter & Gamble, Avery Dennison and Trojan Battery Company. Toyo notes that in his recent role at Pentel of America, he led the company to significant internal performance improvements and progressive market share gains. His senior executive responsibilities over the years have included all facets of the organisation, including finance, business development, marketing, sales, product development, plant management, manufacturing and engineering. Furman is a graduate of the Columbia University Senior Executive Program and he received his M.B.A in Finance from Loyola University.  He also holds a B.S. in Chemistry and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
