Bridgestone Unveils Latest Addition to Battlax Range

Date: 6th October 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Bridgestone has introduced its latest motorcycle tyre at the Intermot exhibition in Cologne, Germany. Called the Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport, the radial sports tyre is described by the manufacturer as a product incorporating “a number of advanced technologies developed by Bridgestone in MotoGP.” The end result, says Bridgestone, is a successful combination of excellent durability and superior performance on both dry and wet surfaces. Designed specifically for larger-sized sports motorcycles such as supersport and naked bikes, the line-up includes one front tyre and three rear tyre sizes.

The tread of the Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport contains what Bridgestone calls ‘3LC’ (3 Layer Compound), a substance said to offer high cornering grip together with precision linear handling. The Japanese manufacturer’s patented “Silica Rich Ex” compound with “RC polymer (for motorcycle tyres)” has also made its way into the new tyre, and Bridgestone describes it as combining excellent durability with superior performance in the wet.

European market sales of the Battlax BT-016 Pro begin in October with size 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) available for front wheel fitments and 180/55ZR17M/C (73W), 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) and 190/55ZR17M/C (75W) for the rear.
