Auto Express Tests: Sava Offering Quieter, Fuel-Efficient Ride

Date: 9th September 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

While it finished tenth out of twelve overall in Auto Express’s tyre tests, Slovenia’s Sava – part of the Goodyear Dunlop group – scored particularly well in the noise test, beating all the other contenders, and was ranked in second place in the rolling resistance tests, in which it scored closest to the runaway winner of that test, Hankook.

Sava’s intense uhp tyre was tested for noise, vibration and harshness. Results were based on an average of six sound readings taken in two directions on a variety of surfaces, coasting from 50mph for 15 seconds with everything but the engine turned off. Auto Express said: “The results may be close, but you can tell the difference from behind the wheel between the best and worst.” The magazine named the Sava intensa uhp a “smooth operator”.

Featuring a lightweight construction and carcass made of low rolling resistance materials, the intense uhp’s second-place showing in the low rolling resistance test was impressive, scoring nearly five per cent better than the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT (though still 3.2 per cent behind Hankook’s Ventus S1 evo). “The Sava intensa uhp is the right tyre choice for the value and quality conscious driver who is looking for long-lasting, low-cost and reliable high-performance tyres. The Auto Express Tyre Test proves the performance of the new Sava intensa uhp in the mid range segment” said Kate Rock, PR support manager for Sava.
