Cheng Shin/Maxxis Invests in Private Proving Ground

Date: 24th May 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The news that Cheng Shin recently broke into Tyres & Accessories top 10 leading tyre manufacturers has drawn a response from Maxxis International representatives in the UK. According to the Maxxis statement, the company is continually looking to improve tyre performance and has now invested in a new, state-of-the-art private proving ground in China in order to allow it to “expand its already strong research and development capability.”

The Maxxis facility is reportedly located in Kunshan, Shanghai where it is described as “currently under construction.” Work is due to be completed by the end of 2010.

“Last year produced a positive result for Maxxis as it moves closer to its long-term vision: to become a highly respected, world-class tyre company, with a strong global identity and a loyal customer base. In 2010, Maxxis is increasing its profile by becoming more prominent within the world of sport, associating itself with high performance races, teams, events and individuals around the world,” Maxxis’ statement continued.

Maxxis has operations in Asia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. The company employs more than 22,000 people, including engineers in five research facilities around the world.
