Avon Motorsport Manager Roger Everson Announces Retirement

Date: 31st March 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Roger Everson, sales and marketing manager with Avon motorsport, the competition division of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe, has announced he will retire in March, after 27 years working for the company.

When Everson joined Avon Tyres in 1982, the company had just begun tenure as sole tyre supplier to the British Formula 3 Championship that continues to this day, now under the Cooper Tires brand. Throughout his time in Melksham, he helped the company supply motorsport tyres to numerous championships, including Avon’s 20-year stretch as control tyre supplier to Formula 3000, its first steps into the world of oval and GT racing, and Cooper’s involvement in supplying the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport in its first three years.

He was also on board as the company grew to becoming a considerable force in rallycross, with Avon now being the tyre of choice for the FIA European Rallycross Championship. “Roger has been instrumental over the last 27 years in building our motorsport business into a tier 1 supplier of motorsport tyres and one of the most respected suppliers in motorsport worldwide,” said Julian Baldwin, Managing Director of Cooper Tire Europe.

“Roger is highly respected throughout the motorsport industry; we’d like to thank him for his dedication and commitment. He will be missed.”
