Bandvulc Aims to Double Fulda’s UK Truck Tyre Share

Bandvulc Group, the Devon-based retreading and fleet servicing operation, is aiming to significantly increase Fulda brand truck tyre sales in the UK. Speaking at the company’s Fulda-brand launch event at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground yesterday (17 September), Bandvulc managing director Patrick O’Connell explained that the company has already equalled the Goodyear Dunlop group brand’s 2008 UK sales volume. Starting as they mean to go on, the company reported that it has already transferred the Tesco fleet’s doubledeck OE onto Fulda new tyres.

According to market share data Tyres & Accessories/tyrepress.com has seen, Fulda truck tyre sales have occupied just over 1 per cent UK market share for the last few years. Bandvulc sales director Phillip West confirmed this during his launch presentation, putting the brand’s current market share at 1.7 per cent. While, it is important to point out Bandvulc’s Fulda truck tyre distribution deal is not an exclusive arrangement (McConnechy’s and City First also distribute these tyres), the vast majority of additional sales are expected to come through Bandvulc. And what’s more, Bandvulc representatives are confident that they can double this in relatively short period of time.
