New 3-Year Contract for Cooper’s Texarkana Plant Ratified

Date: 15th December 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

On December 15 Cooper Tire & Rubber gave word that the United Steelworkers of America Local 752L, the chapter representing workers at the company’s Texarkana, Arkansas facility, has ratified a new three-year contract with Cooper after workers voted ‘overwhelmingly’ in favour of it on December 13.

“We want to thank the local union officers for their leadership during this sensitive period,” commented Mark W. Krivoruchka, Cooper’s senior vice president, Global Human Resources. “They provided guidance and cooperation to help the Texarkana plant achieve cost savings in order to help strengthen Cooper Tire’s competitive position. We need this spirit of collaboration to continue as we face the challenging times ahead in the U.S. tyre market.”
