Lloyd Fraser Gets Vacu-Lug in Focus

Date: 4th December 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Lloyd Fraser Supply Chain has renewed its three-year contract for Vacu-Lug to supply tyres for tis Focus DIY distribution contract. The agreement covers a total of 162 items of equipment and features a combination of fixed-price and pence-per-kilometre pricing.

A total of 59 Scania tractor units, 76 Don-Bur double-deck trailers and 27 Lawrence David trailers are included within the agreement, which will see new Yokohama tyres fitted to all steer axles and Vacu-Lug Duramold retreaded tyres on the trailers. Reflecting the nature of the operation, the tractor units are on a pence-per-kilometre tariff while the trailers are charged for at a fixed monthly rate.

Nationwide tyre service cover will be provided by Vacu-Lug’s network of service partners with Vacu-Lug monitoring and controlling the entire operation by way of its online tyre management and reporting system, VFM (Vacu-Lug Fleet Management).

“Having been with Vacu-Lug for the past four years, renewing this agreement was an easy decision to take,” Lloyd Fraser Supply Chain general manager Adrian Rea commented. “This particular contract involves store deliveries plus an element of collection from Focus DIY’s suppliers, both of which demand exceptionally high levels of service and performance on our part. In our view, Vacu-Lug has significantly contributed to the success of this contract by sharing our service ethos and managing our tyre usage and associated costs as efficiently as possible.”
